Albury - Wodonga is located 330 kilometres to the north east of Melbourne. Albury - Wodonga straddles the Victorian and NSW border and has the Murray River running straight through the middle and Lake Hume close by. Because of this, water sports such as water skiing, sailing and fishing are well catered for. Golfing is well catered for in the area as well as with numerous golf courses in the towns along the Murray.

Mountain biking is predominantly located to the north of Albury in an area called Nail Can Hill but there are various other options available as detailed below. The Nail Can Hill area has a series of trails that were used in the Victorian State Round.
