Pictures of forest and Bruce Track trailhead.

The Forrestech trails are located in the Bairnsdale - Lakes Entrance area and were first highlighted to me by Adrian Haupt who dropped me an email about them. The trail network has a number of trails including the main Scalelectric Loop which has a number of trail offshoots. There is also a shared walking riding trail called Reed Track and a small pump track at the trailhead. These trails have the Gippsland Lakes Discovery Trail skirting the area as well to further enhance the riding options.

The trails are located in behind Forestech which is located on the Princes Hwy approximately 25 kms east of Bairnsdale or 11 kms west of Lakes Entrance. You can access the trails from near Forestech but the best way to access them is to turn off at Bruces Track just west of Forresttech. There is a MTB park sign at the intersection. Proceed up Bruces Track and the pump track and a number of trails are immediately on the right. Park here and away you go.

While I didn't get to ride the full trail network, the trails are quite good passing through eucalypt forest with a ferny understorey so it's quite pleasant to ride through and the countryside is gently undulating meaning there is a good mixture of fast sections with minor climbs interspersed.

The trail map by the DEPI is good quality. If you've got a GPS, take it as there are quite a few trails you can head down off the main loop and it's useful sometimes to know where you are.

Trail Links
Scalectric Trail Scalectric Trail forms the backbone of the trail network at Forestech and forms a (sort of) figure eight loop network which runs for almost 16 kilometres. Track rating is easy to intermediate.
Reed Track Reed Track is a shared use trail which runs for 7 kilometres in the south eastern corner of the trail network and runs from Forestech to the Gippsland Lakes Discovery Trail.
